Our Aim
AH Physiotherapy & Sports Performance aims to drive the standard of Physiotherapy forwards across Chesterfield and the surrounding areas. There’s nothing worse than waiting weeks to see a therapist, and being told to go away and ‘stretch it’ or be given a list of 15 exercises to complete at home every day with no guidance or progressive plan in place.
We value every minute of your rehabilitation journey with us, starting the moment you sit down for your initial assessment, whether that be in person or online. We listen to your story, your goals and expectations and follow this up with a thorough assessment which allows us to develop personalised treatment and rehabilitation plans that are progressive towards your end goal.
We are very proactive in our approach, and believe remaining active around injuries, and strengthening as soon as appropriate is key to making a safe and speedy recovery.
Every session we aim to spend time within the gym, working through your rehab plan, going over the finer details, ensuring correct technique and understanding of the reasons why we are doing these movements.
Recovery is never straight forwards, and we pride ourselves in being able to take a step back, review, and adjust management plans to ensure the best standard of care is delivered.
Meet the Team

Founder & Chartered Physiotherapist
Andy completed undergraduate degrees in both Sports Rehabilitation and later Physiotherapy from the University of Bradford and has gained over a decade of experience across different roles. Initially starting out within professional football at Chesterfield FC, Andy then moved onto a role within the NHS, before moving back into professional football, where he was Head of Academy Physiotherapy for Port Vale, and then Doncaster Rovers.
Andy then moved into a role providing First Contact Physiotherapy across various GP practices in South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, providing MSK assessments and management. It was during this time that Andy expanded his scope of practice, becoming an MSK injection therapist. During this time Andy worked part-time for various non league clubs football clubs, including Matlock Town and Guiseley AFC.
Andy then moved onto his most recent role, providing elite rehab support for professional footballers working out of St Georges Park. Andy would work day to day with professional and semi-professional footballers attending a weekly residential rehab service, to provide injury assessment, rehabilitation and profile testing for various injuries including ACL reconstructions, Ankle ligament injuries, sports hernias, quadricep and hamstring repairs, Achilles ruptures and more.
In August 2025, Andy decided to launch AH Physiotherapy and Sports Performance, to offer a high standard of injury support to both the general public and athletes at all levels, ages and abilities.
Andy is always looking to continue to develop, to ensure the standard of support is the best possible for his clients, and is due to start a post-graduate degree in September 2025 in Strength and Conditioning.
Away from work, Andy enjoys all sports, but has a keen passion for Golf and Football.
